Clinical Associate
Antoine is a fully bilingual counsellor who has worked in the Ottawa area for over 20 years. In 2011, he became a member of the Ontario College of Psychologist as a Psychological Associate. He has worked in a wide variety of settings, providing management consultations, individual, couple and group counselling as well as presenting training seminars and presentations on a variety of topics. He provides counselling on a range of issues with particular emphasis on anger management, dealing with stress and depression as well as issues of sexuality or childhood abuse. His current supervisor is Dr. Augustine Meier, Ph.D. and his services can be covered by most Extended Health Care Benefits.
In his past work as an Employee Assistance counsellor within both the private sector and for the Federal Government, Antoine provided individual, couple and family counselling to individuals from a wide variety of work settings. He has conducted training and debriefing seminars on workplace deaths, achieving balance, diversity issues and Treasury Board policies and procedures as they relate to harassment and wellness in the workplace.
Antoine approaches all clients with respect and professionalism, providing a safe space to explore issues and experiment with new ways of being or seeing situations. He utilizes experiential and client centered techniques to assist people with finding solutions or emotional potentials within themselves. He has worked extensively with relationship issues, including with same-sex couples and couples where one or both partners have experienced physical and/or sexual abuse in childhood. He provides a structured Individual Anger Management program (certificate of completion included) as well as general individual counselling for men experiencing depression, relationship break-up or other major life transitions.
