Emotional Intelligence Group Program

This program is offered for men who wish to explore issues of emotional sensitivity, expression, and interpersonal conflict resolution. An equal emphasis will be placed on emotional awareness as well as skills development. An assessment interview is required before registering. Participants must make a minimum ten week commitment to the program.

Participants should expect to receive awareness and skills training on such issues as:

  • Problem solving skills & conflict resolution techniques
  • Trust building
  • Listening skills
  • Emotional first aid
  • Articulation of difficult feelings
  • Assertiveness
  • Masculinity and emotional constriction
  • Interpersonal boundaries
  • Non-abusive communication skills
  • Empathy training
  • Emotional self-monitoring techniques
  • Cognitive restructuring

The curriculum will also be shaped by participant feedback. Please note that this curriculum can also be covered through individual counselling for those clients who prefer this format.

An assessment interview is required to enter the program.

Fees:
The assessment interview is about 1 hour and costs $140.00.  The program requires a minimum 10 week commitment.  The group meets once a week for 2 hours.  The cost for 10 weeks is $500.00.

The assessment and group fees can be covered under private insurance.  Ask your facilitator about this.
